While it’s possible to dramatically reduce your emissions, getting to zero today requires some sequestration or offsetting. And sequestration will likely be an important global strategy, long after we get to net zero as a society, to counteract emissions to date. Our family’s per person emissions are about 25% of an average American (3.8 tons) and we offset those through our personal reforestation project. Since these are estimates, we also use a carbon offset program for good measure.
